Child Safeguarding

Updated: 26 July 2026

Endorsement

Gymea Bay Cricket Club is committed to providing a safe and inclusive environment for children and young people.

As such, via Cricket NSW’s Fair Play Declaration, the Club has adopted and endorses the following child safeguarding policies:

All persons involved in activity with children, are required to be aware of their obligations and behaviour, so we can ensure cricket is a space and welcoming space for children and young people.

Working with Children Checks

As per the Cricket NSW Safeguarding Children & Young People Policy (Clause 5.7), all persons working or volunteering with children and young people in cricket are required to have a valid and active Working with Children Check (WWCC).

No exemptions apply. This includes, but is not limited to, the following persons requiring a WWCC – committee members, contractors, coaches, managers, senior captains and anyone else who regularly provides services to children or is responsible for children.

Apply for or renew your WWCC through the NSW Office of Children’s Guardian.
