Register to Cricket Blast for summer 2025/26!

Skills v Competition

Cricket Blast is broken into two separate programs, to assist players progressing into Junior Cricket.

Skills

Introductory program for those aged 4-9, aimed at teaching players the fundamentals of cricket through fun games and activities.

Sessions are held 6pm-7pm on Friday afternoons at Gymea Bay Oval. All equipment is provided.

Players can wear whatever they are comfortable in. It will be hard to get them out of their Cricket Blast shirt when it arrives though! Enclosed shoes are required.

Competition

Small, modified games of cricket against other teams and clubs. Check out Cricket Australia’s website here for a video of the format. There are minor variations to the rules played locally, so ensure to listen to the Coordinator on your first day.

The Sutherland Shire Junior Cricket Association will confirm the venue and day of the week shortly. In 2024/25, the program was held on the synthetic fields at Kareela, Saturday mornings. Unfortunately, the venue will be under repair this summer, so the Association is exploring other options for 2025/26.

All new Cricket Blast Competition players will receive a free, club branded, short sleeve playing shirt and club cap. Players can wear black shorts or white pants with their club shirt and hat.
